Favorite Send to FastDraw3 on 3 on Top (side/wing ball screen) Offensive restriciton: pass and follow to the ball screen. There are many ways to teach defending ball screens. In this drill you can practice trapping the ball screen, ICEing the ball screen, flat hedging or hard hedging. Adapt it to your personal philosophy. For the #PressureManTips series, I will illustrate the hard hedge (some call this "blitz"). Points of emphasis: HEDGE: get hip-to-hip with the screener, widen the wide side of your body by extending outside arm and leg. Make the ball handler "bubble" their dribble, go with them 2-3 steps then recover. ON THE BALL: reach your away foot over the top foot of the screener and then run through the gap to recover to man and force back up the rooftop. HELP: Break the Line Rules and get to midline! even though the ball is at or above FTLE, get to midline. Look for anything "leaking" out of the ball screen (slip, roll or reject) Drill continues with pass and follow to ball screen action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA traditional screen the screener set out of this normal formation would have the 5 man screening for the guard so the guard can pop to the corner and the 5 can dive to the rim. In this particular play Wisconsin reversed the action as they had already ran the traditional screen the screener once. Kaminsky instead of screening in received a screen and was able to roll right to the basket for a wide open slam dunk. #10 Nigel Hayes stays spaced out all the way on the opposite side of the floor to remove the other big from being located near the basket. Favorite Send to FastDrawAlthough a very basic play it accomplished exactly what UK was hoping for, 1 on 1 with the ball 15 feet from the rim in their best dribble drive player’s hands. In the video included you will see that #1 Booker took the ball out and didn’t run the play correctly. You can tell he screwed the play up because #5 Harrison in the corner of the court is pointing and yelling at him to run off the double screen being set by the 4 & 5. Booker entered the ball to #2 Harrison who popped back to catch the ball at the elbow. With a shooter in the ball side corner, and the in-bounder running off a double screen set by the two bigs it eliminates help side defense so that Harrison now can play 1 on 1 from 15 feet away from the basket. Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother Fred Hoiberg, Iowa State zone set. This is after a timeout vs. Texas. Inside ball screen against top piece of the zone the sprint to corner off rear screen. Screener then slips into high post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIowa State using the point forward concept. Backscreen after the dribble handoff for the post up then screen the screener for potential three point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThroughout the season and the tournament Notre Dame Fighting Irish ran this set as an entry into their motion offense (blocker mover). Very effective in creating player movement, ultimately looking to stretch the floor with their shooting ability and create closeout situations. See More

Favorite Send to FastDraw2 and 3 move in to screen down for 5 and 4 at the elbows. 5 and 4 pop out and 5 sets a ball-screen for 1 as he dribbles left. Once the screens are set, 2 and 3 cut out to the corners. 1 passes to 4 who passes to 2. 4 can also look inside to 5 making a cut to the rim. If 5 isn't open, 3 sets a back-screen for 4 who cuts to the basket. 2 looks to make the lob pass to 4 or passes to 3 for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this play, 5 and 4 start at the elbows and screen down for 3 and 2. 1 dribbles to the right wing then passes to 2. Once 2 has the ball, he swings the ball to 3 as 1 cuts across the lane off of a staggered ball-screen from 5 and 4. Once 1 has the ball, 4 screens for 2 and 5 screens for 4. If neither option is open, 4 sets a ball-screen for 1. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a play that the Atlanta Hawks have run a few times in the 2015 NBA Playoffs. It is a quick look from the sidelines out-of-bounds to get an easy post-up. See More
