Simple Sprint Screen Drill.
Players in the Screen Line need a Basketball. (no more than 3 balls)
Screeners will pass to Coach. Coach will pass to wing.
#1 In the Offense the 1 (Coach) would basket cut. We will add that in the next drill so stress timing and more importantly sprinting to screen.
Sprint Screen Drill.
2 will screen for ball then continue through offense and screen the next spot before rolling to the basket. (We will pick, pick and sprint)
Have 1 (1) attack all the way to the basket, (2) hit elbow jumpshot. [ he will pass to the screener later]
Sprint Screen Drill vs Hard Hedge
If the Defense hard hedges, there are two options. (1) If it is another guard, use 1 retreat dribble then attack the lane. (2) If it is a Big showing, dribble hard at his hip. Most Bigs don't defend well on the perimeter and will be tempted to "swat" at the offensive player.
Sprint Screen Drill (Slip Option)
If the Defense is trailing or goes on the high side early to hedge, this is agreat opportunity to slip. This is why the Sprint is so important. It causes separation and confusion.
