About This Play/Drill

The lag pass or floor reversal option is a staple in the triangle offense.  If the first post up option is not open, reverse and look for the pinch post.  Coaches can get creative on the actions they want to run.  Dribble handoffs, isolations, and pick and rolls all can be incorported. Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Carmelo Anthony all have had success in the pinch post

  • 1 enters to 2 and makes a Strong Side cut to corner. This creates triangles and floor spacing. 4 rotates over to top of key, and 3 cuts to midpost

  • 2 cannot enter to post, reverses to 4. on pass he sets downscreen for 1. 3 makes cut and gets ball at "pinch post". This becomes a 2 man game - handoffs, pick and rolls, fake handoffs, rub cuts etc...

  • 3 has ball at the pinch post. Can isolate, drive but most often run the dribble handoff with 1 coming off downscreen

  • 1 comes off handoff hard, shooter in corner, 3 rolling to basket off (simlar to pick and roll). 5 spaces out and 2 follows behind
