With this play your 4 has to set a good screen to occupy his defender, and as soon as cuts off his shoulder, 4 has to dive hard to the rim looking for a layup. As you’re working on this play in practice, make sure you work with your 2 on reading the defense to make the proper decision to end up with an open shot. This play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season.
1. 4 and 5 set a double screen for 2. As 2 cuts off of 4's screen 4 dives hard to the rim.
Option 1 - 1 passes to 4 for a lay up.
2. 2 cuts off of 5's screen to the wing, or curls depending on how the defense is playing.
Option 2 - 1 passes to 2 for a shot.
