About This Play/Drill

Coach Biedenbach has been at UNCA for over 17 years and brings a wealth of experience to the bench.

UNCA ran this Motion set against North Carolina State last week and gave them fits for 40:00 before finally losing 82-80.

They ran this set a number of times during the game and it has multiple options.

  • Meyer passes to Atkinson and moves to the elbow shoulder-to-shoulder with Nwannunu. Hornsby pops out weak side setting up the next action. Weeks moves across the lane setting up for the flex screen

  • Hornsby receives the flex screen from Weeks and cuts ball side looking for a quick hit pass
from Atkinson. Weeks comes off the double elbow screen from Meyer & Nwannunu looking to catch & shoot. Meyer pops to the wing after his screen

  • Weeks makes the pass to Atkinson and moves to the elbow shoulder-to-shoulder with
Nwannunu. Hornsby now continues the continuity by moving across the lane and sets the flex screen for
Meyer who cuts ball side block looking for a pass from Atkinson

  • Hornsby comes off the double elbow screen from Weeks & Nwannunu - here Hornsby started to curl, but had to hold up as Atkinson took advantage of the reaction of his defender and started to penetrate into the lane. *if the defender gets caught behind the screen like in this situation, have to curl the double screen into the lane looking for a pass. Nwannunu slipped the screen, Weeks popped out weak side, Meyer popped strong side. This is a nice set run by the Bulldogs and their long time Coach Eddie Biedenbach
