John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats have an entire playbook worth of Horns sets. If you have a 4 with the speed to go by an oversized defender, get your guy the ball at the top of the key and let him go to work.
One of the more common Horns sets. Run this against a team that shows on ball screens. Then make them pay by throwing the ball back to 4. If 4 is a shooter, x5 will have to come out to contest the shot. 5 should be wide open underneath.
The Houston Rockets are scoring 1.077 PPP off baseline out of bounds situations, good for 4th in the NBA. It helps when you have multiple shooters to go along with bigs who can score around the rim.
