Favorite Send to FastDrawAn early offensive set use by Texas Southern during the First Four vs North Carolina Central. This is a quick set for the end of a half for a closely guarded scorer. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawKentucky used this FALSE MOTION in their 2017 NCAA Tournament match-up with North Carolina. This enabled the Wildcats to play through their dynamic point guard, De'Aaron Fox. It led to numerous baskets, late in the 2nd half, as Fox made the correct read. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawKentucky ran this play multiple times in the first half of their Elite Eight game against North Carolina to get effective looks at a backdoor layup. This play can be run as a continuity offense starting with a side ball screen. 1 dribbles off of the screen and passes to 4. 4 looks for the backdoor pass and if fhat isn't available passes to the wing to get into another side pick & roll. As 2 comes off the ball screen they pass to the other post player (5) up top. 5 goes through same reads (backdoor pass or pass and follow pick & roll). See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawKentucky ran this set in their Elite 8 match-up with North Carolina. The set is well designed, as it creates an advantage in the wing pick and roll. The 4 fills to the top, in the case that the opponent tries to ice or trap the ball screen. A quick pass to 4, allows for the lob to 5. If they do not do those things, then 2 should turn the corner, looking to make a play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBLOB Situations--Scouting and defending baseline situations man-to-man can be extremely difficult at times. More and more NCAA teams are utilizing a "diamond" or "1-3-1" alignment to defend BLOB situations. Syracuse and North Carolina both use this alignment when defending BLOB situations and teams usually just throw the ball all the way back into the back court to inbound the ball safely. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDown by six with 90 seconds left in the National Championship game North Carolina ran a quick hit baseline out of bounds play to get their best player #5 Paige an open 3-point look in the corner. He hit the shot and in a blink of an eye it went back to a one possession game. What I like about this Baseline out of bounds play is that it has a few options to get a lay-up that went un-noticed because Paige ended up hitting the 3 in the corner. The first action is the back screen set for the point guard to cut right to the rim for a quick entry pass and score. The second you don’t really see in the video due to the ball not reversing. If the pass would have been made to the top of the key to the 3 man who had set the back screen for 1, then 1 would have set a cross screen for the 5 man who had just set the screen to free up Paige for the shot. This put’s the 5’s defender in a really tough spot having to show or help on Paige then get screened going back the opposite way to an entire side cleared out for a post iso. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis action is how Syracuse scored their first basket against North Carolina in the Final Four. It is a great play with Syracuse’s personnel utilizing #10 Cooney and his shooting ability. The action begins with the high ball screen while Cooney flares off a screen looking for his shot. When he doesn’t have a shot the other post sets a side ball screen for him to attack the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is an ATO set the North Carolina broke out in their NCAA tournament game against Notre Dame. The beauty in this set is that they overload a side, leaving the backside zone defender with no one to guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNotre Dame ran this play in the first half against North Carolina. They run a quick slot ball screen straight into a handoff/ball screen combo. They roll the post to the block and the guards look to penetrate and kick. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNotre Dame used this play in the Elite 8 game against North Carolina. They run a ball movement action that sends the point guard looping into the lane and out to the right wing to set a flare. Then, both posts guys move out to set a ball screen with the first screener slipping. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIndiana used this play in the first half against North Carolina. If the initial zipper action isn't open, they simply repeat it looking for a shot or scoring opportunity off of the screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawProvidence used this play against North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament. The continuous movement forced the defenders to get out of position allowing Providence to drive to the rim and force a foul on the Tarheels. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe inbounder is the most forgettable player in baseline and sideline out of bounds plays. In this set, Notre Dame took advantage of North Carolina by playing small. Knowing that a big man (Isaiah Hicks) was guarding the inbounder, they decided to run a play for the inbounder (Steve Vasturia) off of a stagger screen. This allowed him to get a wide open look. Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a set run out of North Carolina's secondary break action. It can be run as an individual set play, or also integrated into your secondary break. See More
