Basketball Play - UNC

UNC

Dana Beszczynski 11/23/2015

This is a very nice set play out of their Secondary Offense. Beginning with a down screen releasing the wing outside for the pass, he immediately looks inside for a post-up situation. On the weak side, a double stagger is being set for the shooter who comes off looking for a possible catch & shoot action out of the post-up. UNC does a very good job running their Secondary actions and this is just one of the gems you can use in your offense at any level. See More

Basketball Play - UNI Gate Screen Counter

UNI Gate Screen Counter

Dana Beszczynski 11/23/2015

UNI ran this counter action to the shuffle screen which saw Koch come into the post receiving a pass from Jesperson who popped out after his screen. This time, Jesperson screens Bohannon who runs into the lane, hesitates by putting his "fist" up to signal screen and Koch also moves down as if to set a screen for Morgan. Both come together and execute a perfect "gate screen" for Bohannon who runs between the screens, closing to seal off the defender and Bohannon is free for the open 3 pt shot. Ben Jacobsen's team is very exciting and fun to watch. This is an excellent series you can easily install at any level to keep your opponents guessing! See More

Basketball Play - Baseline Cross

Baseline Cross

Kyle Gilreath 11/18/2015

Michigan State ran this quick hitting action last night to put the Spartans ahead and eventually overcome Kansas. This is a simple action that because of the speed of the cuts and the congestion, the defense runs into each other allowing for the space for a catch & shoot by Valentine. See More

Shuffle - Double Stagger Action

Dana Beszczynski 11/14/2015

Gregg Marshall has taken the Wichita State Shockers Men's Basketball program to new heights since his arrival 9 years ago. In those 9 years, he has compiled a record of 204-76 including 95-15 over the last 3 years which saw the Shockers play in a Final 4. This is a nicely designed play to get the mutli versatile Ron Baker either a post-up action or a chance to utitlize his tremendous shooting ability coming off a double stagger screen. See More

Basketball Play - Miami Heat "35 Slice"

Miami Heat "35 Slice"

Brandon Mullis 11/05/2015

At the end of the 2nd quarter of their final preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Miami Heat ran this set to Gerald Green to get to the rim for a wide open lay-up. Green came off the wing ball screen attacking the rim, but also had options to pass to a cutting Josh McRoberts or shooters on the perimeter spotting up. This is really good action for an end of shot clock or end of quarter type of set, to get one of your best penetrators and athletes attacking the rim, or if the defense collapses on penetration, a kick out for an open 3-pointer.
