Basketball Play - Trail Blazer Horns Ball-Screen

Trail Blazer Horns Ball-Screen

Wes Kosel 04/26/2015

In this horns set play from the Trail Blazers, 4 sets a down-screen for 2 in the corner as 3 moves towards the rim. 1 passes to 2 then cuts off of a back-screen from 5. At the same time this is happening, 4 screens for 3 who cuts to the corner. If neither option is open, 5 steps over to set a ball-screen for 2. 2 looks to turn the corner and score or can give the ball to 1 on a dribble hand-off. See More

Basketball Play - Duke Thru DHO Shot

Duke Thru DHO Shot

Wes Kosel 04/02/2015

Duke used this play in the first half against Utah. The play starts with Cook dribbling towards the right wing pushing 2 towards the free-throw line. Cook's first look is inside to Okafor posting up. If he isnt' open, Cook looks at 4 popping out after the screen. 4 then dribbles left and gives the ball to Winslow on a dribble hand-off. Winslow stops behind the hand-off and takes the 3-point shot. Billy Donovan has coached teams to the peak of college basketball’s mountaintop. He’s made Florida basketball a millennial powerhouse on the national level and he did it all at a football school. Now, he sits on the doorstep of yet another achievement after coaching his 499th victory Wednesday night against Vanderbilt. Coach Billy Donovan runs Ball Screen Motion Offense that moves the ball and gets shot attempts near the basket and the three point line. Coach Donovan goes for #500 wins against Missouri tonight. Basketball Play - Thumb Series

Thumb Series

Craig LeVasseur 12/09/2014

This is one of my favorite sets from the 13-14 season, and is a staple of the Trailblazers' offense. Very similar to Rick Carlisle's "Get" series from the championship Mavericks team, this set creates multiple scoring looks for each of the Blazers' offensive weapons, and can be modified to highlight any player within the offense. Below are 3 options within the set: Thumb Up, Thumb Fist, and Thumb Punch. Thumb Up creates catch & shoot opportunities for Matthews and Batum, Thumb Fist puts Aldridge and Lillard in a pick and pop situation, and Thumb Punch creates a post scoring opportunity for Aldridge. Basketball Play - OSU Transition / Diamond Set

OSU Transition / Diamond Set

Dana Beszczynski 05/30/2014

The Oklahoma State Cowboys were one of the most talked about Division I teams at the beginning of the season for their strong start. Near the end of the season, they were once again talked about, for all the wrong reasons. Despite these setbacks, the Cowboys had one of the most talked about players in the game this season Marcus Smart and extremely athletic guard Markel Brown. This Transition Set runs right into a simple Diamond play and with the utilization of screens & player movement, the Cowboys finally get the ball into the hands of their prolific scorer Smart who sets up Murphy at the end of the play.
