PACERS POST UP
05/19/2014In Game 1 of the EC Finals the Pacers forced numerous post ups. Presumably due to the fact that the Heat helped one pass away and left Indiana's shooter wide open at the perimeter. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawIn an effort to spark their sluggish start to Game of the 2014 EC-Finals, the Miami Heat ran this quick hitter for Ray Allen (2). See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran that play in Game 1 of the EC Finals against the Pacers. Down by 16 points in the 3rd quarter, they got an open look for Ray Allen to cut down the deficit. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis Set Play run by Murray State from a SLOB situation is really well designed. The Racers use three sets of double staggered screens to get themselves into a position for the best shot in the offense. The timing and execution of this play was great to watch and Payne does a good job getting his post man a touch inside after a perfect read of the defense, using the zipper cut up the lane to take advantage of the defense cheating over the top. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Brooklyn Nets ran this elbow action in their game versus the Miami Heat. As 3 (Joe Johnson) came up the lane for the 3-pointer, X4 sniffed out the action and helped to prevent the catch. This allowed 4 (Paul Pierce) to slip to the block for a post-up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a play that the Celtics ran a little while back to get a basket against the Heat with little time left on the clock. Almost all of the action is false with the intent to get the 5 man to seal his defender to the outside so that a lob can be thrown over the top to the side of the floor where there is no help. This is a great play to run with little time left! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPlay ran by Miami Heat that sets up a step up screen for the point guard through use of a dribble handoff. x5 has to stunt to the ball on 5's downscreen. On 2's catch x5 will be on the top side of 5. Therefore when 1 uses the step up there is no hedge. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night I tweeted that Doc Rivers is one of the greatest ATO coaches of all time; this play is a big reason why. He drew up this play during a timeout late in the 4th quarter versus the Miami Heat. This play is so effective, yet very simple to run and provides multiple scoring opportunities. As 1 (CP3) received the dribble hand-off from 4 (Griffin), he has 3 main options: 1. Pull-up jumper or attack the rim 2. Drive and force X3 to help and kick out to 3 for a catch & shoot 3. Drive and look to kick out to 2 in the corner if X2 rotates to the lane. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night the Miami Heat were down 4 versus the Brooklyn Nets at the end of the game and Erik Spoelstra drew up this action to get Lebron James a quick catch & shoot 3-ptr. Lebron made the shot but it wasn’t enough as the Heat fell to the Nets in Brooklyn’s home opener for the season. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this action versus the Pelicans Wednesday night to get Chris Anderson an easy dunk at the rim. As 1 was screening for 3, the defense became very oppupied with defending Wade (not seeing the ball). Furthermore, X2 and X5 did not communicate and both ended up on 2, leaving 5 wide open rolling to the rim with no helpside. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this quick hitter last season during the Playoffs to get Chris Bosh a shot off a misdirection. As Wade took one dribble past the pick from Lebron, he quickly turned and fired to Bosh who slipped in behind Haslem. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this play in the 2012 playoffs to get a lob for Dwyane Wade. The lob action has also been successful for us, but once teams have the play scouted, we've been able to take advantage by inbounding to the screener and setting up a handoff or a down screen option. It is critical that 3 sells the initial zipper cut, as most teams will deny this pass and this will force the defender into a position where he's easier to screen coming back to the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is based on a lob play the Miami Heat run for Dwyane Wade. We added onto it when teams started taking away the lob late in the season. The secondary actions are excellent in late-game situations. It's critical that you teach 3 to cut hard off the initial screen, as most teams will deny the inbound to him and set up the back screen nicely. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother set started by a sprint screen from the Miami Heat as 1 sprints off 4's screen to set a ball screen on #6 Lebron James who is playing the 5 at this time. The 1 slips it and pops to the wing as #34 Ray Allen sprints off a stagger screen. #3 Dwayne Wade after setting the first screen opens right back up to the ball looking for a lob or pass. He gets a basket out of this in the NBA Finals. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis was a play I saw the Pacers run against the Miami Heat in Game Three of the Eastern Conference Finals. It got Roy Hibbert a wide open shot near the rim, but before that action took place, Paul George started to back down his man in the post on an empty side, indicating an isolation option for George. Coach Frank Vogel drew up a great play here to get his two best offensive players good looks in the same action. See More
