Basketball Play - Stagger Spread Flare Shake

Stagger Spread Flare Shake

Matt Hackenberg 04/26/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a set play using a stagger screen to try to get an initial look for shooter, then transitioning into a spread ball screen with a shake from behind the ball screen and flare in front of the ball screen. Horns BS Flare Stagger

Matt Hackenberg 04/25/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play in the half court. The ball screen sets up a flare into an empty side. If the flare doesn't product a shot, a stagger is set on the other side Visit my Sellfy store for detailed coaching materials written by me - https://sellfy.com/coachhack.go/ Follow me on Twitter - @CoachHackGO Find me on all my platforms - Linktree See More

Basketball Play - Princeton Chin Elbow Iso

Princeton Chin Elbow Iso

Matt Hackenberg 04/18/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at set play out of a Princeton alignment. This is the standard chin and false go, action except we hit the big at the elbow and let them go to work. This pass is open a lot because teams use x5 to help on the cutting and screening action so often. Basketball Play - Box Up Screen Iso

Box Up Screen Iso

Matt Hackenberg 04/18/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a BLOB play to get a 15-foot isolation. The play starts like a lot of box alignment BLOBs with a screen up. After the screen, the screener flares slightly and receives the over the top pass. He now has an isolation from the elbow to explore. Basketball Play - Transition Brush Flare

Transition Brush Flare

Matt Hackenberg 04/08/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a designed transition flow to create confusion for the defense, and a gap to attack for the offense. I love how quick and smoothe the offense gets into the action. It's easy to see defenses miscommunicating this action. Basketball Play - UConn Huskies WBB - Triangle

UConn Huskies WBB - Triangle

Rory Hamilton 04/01/2022

Initial Set-up: Slots and Wings with 5 at the nail. Play can be run to either side. Play is initiated with a pass to the wing. UCLA screen by the 5 for the 1. After setting the UCLA screen, the 5 pops out for ball reversal. On the 5's catch, it triggers actions on both side of the court. A back screen ball side, and a flare screen on the weakside. The 5 immediately runs a DHO with the 1 and then comes off a ball screen. The 1 should read the PNR along with the 2 and 4 staying spaced and ready to shoot on the weak side. See More

Basketball Play - Flare Cross STS

Flare Cross STS

Matt Hackenberg 03/31/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play with a few different options. Entering the ball to the elbow isn't as easy as it looks, but if you can get the ball there, it opens up some options. The flare stretches the defense side to side, and the back screen into the screen the screener can punish the defense whether they switch the screens or get through. Basketball Play - Horns Stagger DHO Flare Slip

Horns Stagger DHO Flare Slip

Matt Hackenberg 03/31/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a long form play with multiple options. I like these style of plays because you just need to catch the defense slipping on one of the actions to create an advantage. The stagger may create a shot behind the hand off, or a pass to the roller after the hand off. The flare stretches the defense side to side, and the slip is a chance for an easy basket if the defense is sleeping. Basketball Play - Princeton Swing Series

Princeton Swing Series

Matt Hackenberg 03/31/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a long form set play with multiple options. You can run the play all the way through, but likely you won't need to because something will be open before then. I love how much movement there is in the action, always keeping the defense busy. There are multiple ball screen options, and multiple options for cutting options. Basketball Play - Back, Flare, Triple Screen Series

Back, Flare, Triple Screen Series

Matt Hackenberg 03/31/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a long form set play with multiple options. You can run the play all the way through, but likely you won't need to because something will be open before then. I like how this series stretches the defense with cuts to the rim, cuts to the perimeter, and movement side to side.
