Favorite Send to FastDrawThroughout the season and the tournament Notre Dame Fighting Irish ran this set as an entry into their motion offense (blocker mover). Very effective in creating player movement, ultimately looking to stretch the floor with their shooting ability and create closeout situations. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAlong the lines of Randy Wittman, Kerr likes to run the Hammer set to get his players open, and in true Kerr style he runs a nice counter out of this set. Having Mo Speights (stretch 5) set the Hammer screen knowing his defender would be prone to sag off and help, and then opens up for a jump shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHouston used this play in the 1st Round of the NBA Playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks for a Josh Smith to Dwight Howard lob. This simple Turn 4 set gives Smith good positioning for a post up, and the flare option for Trevor Ariza is always available to keep the defense honest. A 4-5 pick and roll is a difficult enough play to defend, but moving the screen down to the block confuses the coverages even more than usual. In this play the defense commited to the pick and roll too soon, and Howard spun out of the pick for a lob pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw2 starts with the ball out-of-bounds and 1 cuts up the lane line to get the ball. 1 dribbles right as 2 cuts off of screens from 5 and 4. 1 passes to 4 then moves to the opposite wing. 2 gets a ball-screen from 4 and attacks middle. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this specific play Wisconsin made a modification to the common roll & replace ball screen set in which the 4/5 set a ball screen then roll to the rim while the other big lifts to the top of the key replacing him. This makes it tough for the defense to keep somebody in the hole to defend the roll guy. In this Wisconsin ball screen set after Frank Kaminsky sets the ball screen and begins to roll, the 4 man Nigel Hayes screens in for Kaminsky who flares to the wing. With Kaminsky’s man defending the ball screen and retreating quickly to get back to him, Hayes’ defender is in help side to pick up the rolling Kaminsky. Hayes is able to create a deep screening angle to pin Kaminsky’s defender in freeing him up for a wide open jump shot. This small variation was very effective as Kentucky’s bigs were more used to covering the traditional roll and replace action with Kaminsky rolling to the rim, and Hayes replacing him. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Houston Rockets utilize the 4 & 5 man in the Pick & Roll is in the post. They have a guard exit to the wing, enter the ball into the post and have Dwight Howard set a flare screen for the wing man. He then follows up and sets a post Pick & Roll for the 4 man in the post and rolls to the rim. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDoc Rivers drew up a great end of game Sideline out of Bounds play for a lob for DeAndre Jordan. The play starts with Crawford coming off screen from DeAndre Jordan and then Redick setting a backscreen for Jordan to get open for a lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGolden State ran this play against Memphis in Game 2 for a David Lee post up. This set is run out of a traditional San Antonio Strong formation, a great shooter at the 2 like Klay Thompson is the perfect decoy to set up a post opportunity. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis was the opening play for the Grizzlies in Game 2 versus the Warriors. There is a lot of moment to this play and it presents multiple options, making it a great play to get your offense started. This play presents two opportunities for Zach Randolph to post up on either block, and really takes advantage of Marc Gasol's ability in hi-lo situations. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach of the Year Mike Budenholzer is one of the best, if not the best, coach in after timeout and special situations to get players great shot opportunities. To start game 5 against the Brooklyn Nets he gets alot of movement before getting Kyle Korver an open look from 3. They run the normal "Zipper" cut into a double screen to get some action before the initial set. Their big pops to the wing, and Budenholzer has Korver set a UCLA screen before coming off a flare screen for an open look from 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA counter out of the "Hammer set" the Spurs run so well. Instead of looking for the baseline drift, Danny Green sets a flare screen for Mills and cuts to the ball for an open shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe ball is swung from the left side of the floor to the right. Once 2 has the ball on the right wing, 3 sets a flare-screen for 1. 2 passes to 4 who looks for 1 on the flare. If that option isn't open, 4 passing to 3 popping up from the screen. 3 then passes to 1 and moves towards the right elbow with 4 to set a staggered screen for 2. 2 cuts around the screen looking for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw4 screens down for 2 who cuts up and gets the pass from 1. 2 makes the quick pass back to 1 then flares off of 5's screen at the right elbow. At the same time, 3 cuts to the left wing/corner off of a screen from 4. If 1 has trouble passing to 2 on the initial cut, he can continue dribbling towards the left wing as 4 posts up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw4 again sets the down-screen for 2 in the corner. 1 passes to 2 then gets the quick pass back. 4 screens for 3 and 5 sets a flare-screen for 2. Once 2 has cleared the screen, he turns to cut off of another screen from 5. Once 2 has the ball, he looks to attack into the lane. See More
