Basketball Play - Three Player Weave Drill

Three Player Weave Drill

Matt Hackenberg 03/21/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at warmup drill. I like the Three Player Weave as a warmup to teach lead passing, goal setting and layup striding. It fits perfectly into some of the habits we want in our transition offense Visit my Sellfy store for detailed coaching materials written by me - https://sellfy.com/coachhack.go/ Follow me on Twitter - @CoachHackGO Find me on all my platforms - Linktree See More

Matt Hackenberg 03/07/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a drill or game structure that is very competetive, and focues mostly on transition situations. This drill is very versatile and can be used for fundamentals and pressing details as well. Our players love this drill, as well as our coaching staff. Basketball Play - Chino Hills '15-16: Press Defense

Chino Hills '15-16: Press Defense

Matt Hackenberg 01/08/2022

BLOG & PLAYBOOK - Chino Hills Huskies: The Scheme Behind the Ball Brothers In this embedded video and diagram we look at the press defense of the 35-0, state championship Chino Hills team of 2015-16. Its press was one of the featured items of the CH system, following behind transition offense. Chino Hills wanted to play at a maximum pace, and its 2-2-1 3/4 court press was a major reason it could create so many turnovers and play at a fast pace. Video clip below. Basketball Play - Zone Set: Overload Tight Curl

Zone Set: Overload Tight Curl

Matt Hackenberg 12/25/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. The concept of overloading the zone places more offensive players in an area than there are defenders. The cuter overloads the zone, shifting with the pass, and then an interior screen frees up the post player to catch the ball inside on the tight curl. Basketball Play - Horns: Push Slice STS

Horns: Push Slice STS

Matt Hackenberg 12/25/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set out of a horns alignment. The set wants the defense to help on the screen in the paint, so that they are late getting through the screen-the-screener action. Against switching defenses, 5 wants to screen their own defender to free up the shooter. Video below. Matt Hackenberg 12/25/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a zone set to overload the defense. The object is to have four offensive players in the area of three defensive players, and force the defense to "guard air." Basketball Play - 5 Out: False Go Flare

5 Out: False Go Flare

Matt Hackenberg 12/07/2021

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a flare screen from a 5 Out transition. It doesn’t generate the most efficient shot, but as you can see from the video, it is EXTREMELY hard to stop. If you have point guard that can really shoot it, this action can create a ton a wide open looks.
