BLOB - 4 High Play

Basketball HQ 10/05/2012

Cut hard and read the defense. Have your best passer inbound the basketball and don’t stare down the receiver. Even if you don’t get the basketball make sure that you cut hard and draw the defense. Inbound plays don’t have to be super complicated just cut hard and be ready to shoot if you are open. Don’t just look to get the ball in. Try to get a good shot off of the inbound play or get right into your offensive set. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More

Basketball Play - Baseline Double Screen

Baseline Double Screen

Basketball HQ 10/03/2012

Screeners need to head hunt and hit the shooters defender with a good screen. If the shooters defender goes over the screen the shooter should fade to the corner and if the defender chases on the screen the shooter should curl or straight cut. A good play doesn’t have to be complex or involve 15 screens but it does require the players to execute it the right way. Make sure that your screeners are head hunting on the screens and not just standing. This will determine whether the shooter gets a good look or not. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. Basketball Play - UCLA with Pin Down

UCLA with Pin Down

Basketball HQ 09/22/2012

This is a multiple screen play that has several different reads. After you come off the UCLA screen and go to set the cross screen the person has the option of coming off of your cross screen or the pin down screen, it is their read. If he comes off your cross screen then you are going to come off the pin down screen. Just read the defense and play out of the set to get a good look. The UCLA screen needs to be a good screen because this will cause the defense to have to shift and become the first crack in the defensive break down. Cutter in the corner needs to read his defender and decide if he should come off the cross screen or pin down screen. Be a threat to score as you come off each screen. This play is from the 2007-2008 Chicago Bulls season. See More
