Basketball Play - Double Weakside Pin Down

Double Weakside Pin Down

Marc Skelton 12/02/2014

Cleveland Cavaliers coach is probably working overtime with his FastDraw account. He ran this play with Maccabi Tel Aviv this past season. It will work really well for Mike Miller or James Jones. And if Ray Allen signs with the Cavs you could see Ray coming off the staggered screen and LeBron setting a lot more screens this season. See More

Basketball Play - Side Need 3

Side Need 3

Kyle Gilreath 10/17/2014

After a furious comeback in the 4th quarter last night, the Chicago Bulls ran this sideline out-of-bounds play with 1.5 seconds remaining to beat the Atlanta Hawks in Pre-Season action. In typical fashion of any great Need play, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau drew up a screen the screener action to create enough space and allow the catch & shoot for Butler before the defense could recover. Basketball Play - Box 2 - BLOB

Box 2 - BLOB

Luke Riegel 10/06/2014

This BLOB set provides an opportunity to get your best shooter (2) an open 3-pointer on the perimeter. The early action and movement by 3 and 1 tries to get the defense more concerned about their movement and forget about 2. A great "counter" option for this set is to occasionally pass it to 3 as he makes his Iverson cut. He will have an open side of the floor to attack. See More

Basketball Play - Side T

Side T

Kyle Gilreath 10/02/2014

This sideline out of bounds play is one that Eddie Jordan ran while coaching the Washington Wizards. If you need a 3 pter, 2 and 1 are obviously your first options. However, if you just need a simple score, look to hit 5 flashing back to the ball. If 5 can really seal around the rim this is a great look if you have a skilled big. Furthermore, if 5 is forced to catch in the elbow area, another option could be 4 trying to go backdoor for a lay-up. See More

Basketball Play - Ball Screen with Baseline Double Screen

Ball Screen with Baseline Double Screen

Basketball HQ 09/03/2014

Baseline double needs to hit the shooters defender on the screens. Shooter can choose to curl in instead of straight cut to the corner if they want, read the defender. Having multiple actions in the same play usually ends up in a good shot for your team. By using the ball screen at the top of the key you force the other teams big men to watch the play and be in the help. This allows for the shooter to come off the baseline double for the open shot in the corner. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More

Basketball Play - Duke Pin Down

Duke Pin Down

Basketball HQ 09/03/2014

Take the action away from the pin down screen by dribbling the basketball over to the opposite side and then bringing it back quickly to the pin down screen. This will allow for the shooter to get a better look without the defense being able to key in on them. This basketball play is all about misdirection. Pin down screener needs to set a good screen and shooter needs to set his man up. The shooter doesn’t have to catch and shoot the ball off the screen. He can shot fake or rip through and make a play for himself or a teammate. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More
