Basketball Play - Milwaukee Bucks - 21 Mix Fan

Milwaukee Bucks - 21 Mix Fan

Dave Nedbalek 03/26/2018

Although this set is not enthusiastically run, or defended, it is nontheless a good action. The intitial set up looks like it is going to be your basic dribble handoff into a ball screen action, but instead it is a quick pitch to a flare for a 3pt look, or a slip to the rim. Ran with some pace, this could be a really good quick transition action. See More

Basketball Play - Michigan Wolverines - Dive Wing Clear

Michigan Wolverines - Dive Wing Clear

John Beilein's Two Guard offense is full of beautiful action and full of endless possibilities. You really need a dynamic 5 man who can shoot and force the defense to spread. This is a simple misdirection action to create a double driving gap. We are using this more and more since the way the game is officiated, and the rules are designed guarding the ball one on one with space for them to create is one of the hardest things to do defensively. If you are interested in learning more of the Two Guard offense, and getting a TON of quick hitters out of it I recommend Tom Jicha's dvd from Championship Productions. Ironically, I have never watched Beilein himself teach this, but we play several teams that run this offense and when run correctly with a big that can stretch the floor you are in for a long night defensively. Basketball Play - Iowa Hawkeyes - Zipper Motion Pin/Flare

Iowa Hawkeyes - Zipper Motion Pin/Flare

Dymetrius Ware 03/06/2018

Former Iowa coach Dr. Tom Davis would run this motion offense set with great success for the Hawkeyes. It incorporates various types of screens (zipper, pin down, flare) to ultimately free up multiple shooters for an open looks. 3 has option to hit whoever is open, or create for themselves in middle of the floor as defense will be spread out and focusing on screens. Basketball Play - TCU - Weak Stagger

TCU - Weak Stagger

Matt Wheeler 01/16/2018

TCU runs this early offense play to get 3 open for shot after running his defender through multiple screens. 1 starts the play with a pass to 3 on the wing. As the ball is swung to the other side of the floor, 3 cuts off of a back screen from 5. They use this decoy action as a misdirection. Once the ball is on the right side of the floor, 3 turns around to cut back off of a stagger screen from 5 and 4. If 3 isn't open, 1 cuts to the top to get the ball reversal. 3 can then run the baseline off a screen from 5 to get a shot on the other side of the floor.
