Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan ran this set, to counter Montana's aggressive traps in the Wolverine's ball screens. This set clears the space behind the ball screen, allowing the screener to pop. Michigan ran this for their best shooter. At the end of the set, the screener can shoot the 3, or make the extra pass for a better shot. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn Game 1 of the series between the 76ers and Celtics, in the 2018 NBA Playoffs, the Sixers opened with this set. It has multiple options, as the Flare Screen can create a shot, or lead to a post entry on the diagonal screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn Games 1 and 2 of the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics got a lot of credit for their smooth switches defensively. In games 3 and 4, the Cleveland Cavaliers countered with some basic actions to pick on the switching defense. Their most effective action was their "Point Flares," with LeBron James as the passer from the middle of the floor. The corner to wing flare allows the screener to seal and cut to the rim, for a pass over the top. This set gave the Celtics fits, resulting in multiple layups for Cleveland. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is just one of the ways that the Mystics get into the action with Toliver setting a back screen for Delle Donne. If Toliver does not have an open 3, she can throw the ball into the post. On the FMS Blog: WNBA Finals - Top Plays Breakdown See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawBelmont trailed by 1, with 20 seconds left, in their first round match-up with Maryland. Coach Byrd decided to hold for one shot, and ran the counter to their "Panic Backdoor set." It is a great late clock action, but the ball pressure led to a deflection. It is worth having in your back pocket as a pressure release at the end of games. #FastModelMadness NCAA Tournament: Viewing Guide by Style of Play See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a disguised entry into 21. Defense is about positioning so getting any defense out of the position they are familar guarding an action out of automatically begins putting them to the test. This is only the entry into the 21 offense. If you have not seen that yet I recommend checking out my diagram of it here See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe University of Houston runs an incredibly effective offense. This set is designed to get a mismatch and the ball in space with shooters surrounding him. Michigan switched this defensively, which for most teams in the country a 1 to 5 or 1 to 4 ball screen would present serious mismatch problems. If defense does not switch, there is either a layup, three, or long closeout to be had. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawI am not convinced this is a set play but I do love this action that led to the outcome. Marquette does a great job of creating triangles with defenders and gaps in their zone offense which puts the defense in decision situations where they will be wrong regardless of how they cover it.
