Favorite Send to FastDrawPortland Trailblazers ran this play in game 2 of the Portland-Memphis series. With Lillard's speed and Portland's execution of spacing and screening, Lillard gets a clear drive to the rim. If Lillard decides to shoot the ball of the high ball screen, Robin Lopez (5) has great rebounding position. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Memphis Grizzles have run this action throughout game 1 and now in game 2 of the Memphis-Portland series. Very effective as it provides isolation opportunties along with simultaneous action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe play is initiated with a pass to 5 at the elbow. Once 5 has the ball, down-screens on both sides of the floor are set by 4 and 1. If 2 and 3 aren't open on the down-screens, 3 looks to curl around 5 for a hand-off. 3 attacks into the lane looking to score or pass off to a shooter. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this counter option, 3 fakes as if he is going to cut off of the cross-screen and instead curls around the double down-screen from 4 and 5. 2 follows behind 3 to cut off of the double down-screen to the top of the key for a shot. 1 can look to drive his man 1 on 1 on the left side or pass to either 3 or 2 for a shot. Favorite Send to FastDrawWith the growing amount of teams using the ball screen in today's game; we decided to implement a couple simple quick ball screen actions that were not apart of our basic ball screen movements. The Ball screen is one of the toughest actions to guard in today's game. We have found it easy to get a get quality look in the lane off our ball screen sets. I discussed in my article published in the Winning Hoops Magazine (Sept./Oct. Edition) -"Using Ball Screens in your Motion Offense" that we generally use our ball screen actions after we get the defense moving. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this play, the Clippers look to get a shot at the elbow with a wide pin-down in the corner for 2. If 2 doesn't have a shot, he continues his cut to set a guard on big ball-screen at the left elbow. 5 looks to drive to the basket off of the ball-screen as 2 rolls or pops. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere are a few baseline screening actions used by the LA Clippers. In option 1, the defender jumps the screen. In option 2, the defender chases 3 on the screen. In option 3, 3 uses a staggered screen to get a shot on the opposite side of the floor. Option 3 also includes a flare for the point guard on middle penetration. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe play starts in a horns set with 5 and 4 moving to the corners. 4 moves to the right corner as 2 moves up to the wing. 5 sets a wide pin-down for 3 in the corner. If 3 can curl into a shot he does. If the pass isn't there, 3 stops at the block and turns around to get another down-screen from 5. This time 3 moves out to the wing for a 3-point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is simple yet effective. The point guard passes to 5 at the high post and cuts away as if he is going to move into the lane. Instead, 1 screens down for 4 who pops out to the top of the key for a 3-point shot. If the defense starts anticipating this action, look to send 1 off of a flare or to the basket on a slip. See More
