Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Cavaliers opened the second half with this play designed to get a post up for 4 (Kevin Love). It is a familiar play for the Cavs and the Warriors had it scouted well. Cleveland did a good job of reading the defense and making a great play out of it. After 1 passes to 3, x4 (Draymond Green) cheats the two screens to meet 4 in the post. When 4 sees this happening, he fades to the corner and 5 readjusts his screen. 3 hits 4 for a 3 point shot. Favorite Send to FastDrawA quick hitting action from the Golden State Warriors. This is a tough action to defend with a shooter setting the back screen since the defender guarding the shooter cannot help off. Combine this strong-side action with a weak-side flare screen action it ultimately eliminates any help on the backcut. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach K is as good as it gets when it comes to set plays and putting his players in a position to best utilize their talents to score. This action they ran most of the night against Kansas with good consistency. With the trio of Guards at Coach K's disposal, the middle ball screen at the end of the set is lethal as the defense has to decide how and where to help from as you have shooters all around the perimeter and talented big men inside who can finish at the ring. The beginning of the play with the wide pin down can also lead to good reads of either flares or curls and then the backscreen sets up the possible lob action to the ring. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Jayhawks Bill Self used a variety of plays against Duke the other night in their two point victory. Having to overcome serious foul trouble all night, the Jayhawks used everything at their disposal to finally eke out the victory. This is an easy set with the 1-3 entry, dribble over and ball reversal. 5 times his step up to backscreen x3 that 3 can get a good run the ring. In this instance, Duke received help on the baseline from x4 who fouled Jackson going up for the dunk. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCounter to the "Iverson Backdoor" action the Cleveland Cavaliers run for JR Smith when the backdoor cut to the basket is prevented. When the back cut is denied, the Cavs look inside for a post-up for Kevin Love. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics have ran this play a few times during the first few games of the season. If 2 uses the cross screen from 1, 1 comes off the pin-down from 4 - becoming STS action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Cavs ran this play late in the 3rd quarter of their season opening game against the New York Knicks. The double back screen creates a look for 3 in the post. x5 has to help on the screen which gives an opportunity for 5 popping up top for a 3 off of the pindown screen. This can be especially effective when utilizing a 5 with shooting range, which the Cavs have with Channing Frye. See More
