The Portland Trailblazers ran this set in their overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers on February 7, 2014. The Blazers were looking to get Wesley Matthews posted up on a smaller defender (George Hill). The second option is to bring Damian Lilliard off of a staggered double for a possible 3-pointer. The staggered double also serves a secondary purpose in that it occupies all three of their defenders making it difficult for them to help on Matthews posting up. See More

This is a backcourt out of bounds play designed to handle a full court press with the ball on a side. We use the crossing action of #'s 2 and 4 to open up #2 coming up the floor. Murray State Head Coach Steve Prohm has taken the Racers to a 65-20 record entering his 3rd season at the helm. He is the fastest Coach in Racer history to reach 60 wins. This set play run in their MVC match-up against Belmont uses good spacing and ends with multiple passing options. The Racers are an exciting team to watch with Freshman PG Cameron Payne taking over the team. Santa Clara ran this double ball screen action the other night in their match-up against BYU. This is a good set forcing the defense to make quick decisions on who to guard. The end result is a wide open shot from the short corner on the weak side as the defender on the 4 man goes to far too help on the pin down screen. Santa Clara ran a lot of nice sets in this game and Coach Keating does a good job getting his players in spots where they can be successful in the offense. See More

Dave Rose is one of the most respected Coach's in Division I today and has made BYU a yearly threat to reach the NCAA Tournament. This play was run effectively at the start of the game as they get their 5 man Mika touches inside. What makes this play so effective is the cut by Haws as if he curls over the top of the 5 man, x5 is forced to step off and help as there is no weak side defensive help on the open side. The Cougars are also such a deadly outside shooting team with Haws who is the leading scorer in the WCC and 3rd in the nation. See More

Utah State MBB ran this set vs. UNLV on 1-22-14. This vintage set was made popular by the Utah Jazz in the 80's and 90's. Stockton, Malone and Hornachek ran this effectively because it incoporated the best shooters into little on big screens and if this set was not available Stockton and Malone could easily get into pick and roll action. Here is an out of bounds play we use late in the game, when a team is playing us M-2-M under. It allows us to create mismatches on teams that will swtich the screening action or we will hit the flex cut for a score. See More
