About This Play/Drill

This is a drill we used at Texas Lutheran and is similar to a drill we do now at Colorado College. The drill gets the players used to calling out cuts and making game-speed cuts for a shot. We had the players practice curling, popping, and flaring on the screen.

  • Basketball Play - 4 Corner Shooting

  • To start the drill, you need 4 basketballs, 2 players on the wing and everyone else in two lines at the top.

    3 cuts from the wing toward the short corner while 2 sets a screen.

    In this option, 3 uses a straight cut and cuts to the elbow for a pass from 1

  • 3 gets his rebound and clears out to the opposite side.

    After 1 passes to 3, 1 sets a screen for 4.

    In this option, 4 uses a back-cut.

    5 passes to 4

    2 moves back toward the wing before starting his cut back down to the short corner

  • 3 runs back to the end of the line

    4 follows the shot then passes the ball to the next man in line

    5 sets a screen for 2

    In this option, 2 fades toward the corner

    6 passes to 2

    1 moves back toward the wing

  • 2 follows the shot then passes to the next man in line at the top.

    6 sets a screen for 1

    1 curls the screen and receives a pass from 7

    5 moves back to the wing
