  • Drill begins in a point-wing-wing setup.

X1 is squared up at the top of the rooftop applying ball pressure

X2 & X3 are in deny stance, up the line one pass away forcing 2 &3 to v-cut to uncover.

Point to wing pass is made.

  • Offense is restricted to "pass and screen away action"

Once the pass to 2 is made, X1 jumps to the ball in deny stance. 1 screens away for 3.

X3 has jumped to the lane line (Line Rules).

EMPHASIS: X1 moves down the midline of the court as their man goes to set down screen. They stay in deny stance in-line with the rim seeing the ball and their man.

EMPHASIS: X3 misses the screen on the ball side and "shoots the gap" between the screener and their teammate (X1)

EMPHASIS: X1 physically "pulls through" their teammate (X3) with their rim-side hand while showing on screen with the deny arm.

X3 is attempting to shoot the gap and deny 3's catch at the point. Screener (X1) fills to the wing

  • 2 is able to make centering pass to 3. X1 closes out to deny. 3 is able to reverse to 1

IF ANY PLAYER SHOOTS THE GAP FOR AN OUTSIDE HAND KNOCKAWAY OF A CENTERING PASS, GIVE PRAISE AND ROTATE THAT DEFENSIVE GROUP OUT IMMEDIATELY!

  • Once the pass to 1 is made, X3 jumps to the ball in deny stance. 3 screens away for 2.

X2 has jumped to the lane line (Line Rules).

EMPHASIS: X3 moves down the midline of the court as their man goes to set down screen. They stay in deny stance in-line with the rim seeing the ball and their man.

EMPHASIS: X2 misses the screen on the ball side and "shoots the gap" between the screener and their teammate (X3)

EMPHASIS: X3 physically "pulls through" their teammate (X3) with their rim-side hand while showing on screen with the deny arm.

The drill continues as such with any pass from point to wing resulting in a screen away.
