  • Basketball Play - Dallas Mavericks End of Game Stack

The Players

#1 - Jose Calderon (#8)

#2 - Monta Ellis (#11)

#3 - Vince Carter (#25)

#4 - Dirk Nowitzki (#41)

#5 - Brandan Wright (#34)

The Play
Frame 1

The play beings with a slanted stack as illustrated. Once #1 gets the ball in his hands, #2 will come off of the stack rubbing off of screens set by #4 and #5 and look for the inbounds pass.

Frame 2
If the first option to #2 is not open, #1 can throw the ball in to #3 in the corner for a three, #5 slipping to the basket, or #4 coming out to the perimeter. #2 will space away to give #4 the space for his shot.

Coaching Point:
When your team runs this play, #1 should be your best inbounds passer, #2 should be your best three-point shooter, #3 should be your second-best three-point shooter, #4 should be a big who can handle the ball on the perimeter, and #5 should be your best big man.
