About This Play/Drill

This is a variation of the baseline out of bounds play (BLOB) "Up" that I posted some time ago.  The variation of the play in that it is run from a 1-4 high formation as opposed to a 1-4 low formation.  We like to run this variation to take advantage of man-to-man defenses against our BLOBs.

  • Basketball Play - High - Up

Part 1
The first option for the inbounds passer (#3) is to hit #5 curling to the basket off of the stagger double set by #'s 4 and 2 in that order.

Part 2
The second option for #3 is to hit #4 curling to the basket off of #2's screen. After #4 clears, #2 will pop slip to the perimeter and look to catch behind the three-point line for an open shot.

Part 3
If none of the first three options comes open, #1 will come to the top of the key area and look to get the ball. From here, we will call a set and look to get into our half-court offense.
