About This Play/Drill

Here is a set used by Virginia in the win over Iowa State in the sweet 16. It is a counter to the typical Virginia blocker/mover action.

1 gives the ball to 2 with a handoff.

2 passes to 3.
1 cuts around 4 and 5 and curls into the lane.

3's first look is to 5 inside.

If 5 isn't open, 3 passes to 4.
4 passes to 2 on the wing.
4 follows and sets a ball screen.

5 sets a flare screen on the weak side.
