Basketball Play - Iverson Elbow Hit Hard Curl

Iverson Elbow Hit Hard Curl

Matt Hackenberg 12/31/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set play to try to score a cheap layup. Timing is critical in this action, as the elbow passer needs to be able to throw the pass if the hard curl is open. This is a tough action to defend with the defense chasing over the top on the Iverson cut. Basketball Play - Box Misdirection Screen In

Box Misdirection Screen In

Matt Hackenberg 12/31/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set play for a three-point shot. I think this is a tricky action that can be used in "need a 3" situations. Pairing with other actions out of a box alignment will increase the set's effectiveness. Basketball Play - Delay Game: 4 Corners

Delay Game: 4 Corners

Matt Hackenberg 12/28/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a delay game strategy to control the clock, shorten the game, and make your opponent overextend. This strategy can be lethal when executed properly. It is dependent on not having a shot clock, but can be used with a shot clock, just without as deep of a threat. Video below. Zone Set: 5 Out Baseline Screen In

Matt Hackenberg 12/28/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. This set looks to create an advantag through screening. The wing entry and return pass just set up the action and create good timing. On the second wing pass, the baseline is screened to create the advantage. Video below. Basketball Play - Zone Set: Step Up Overload

Zone Set: Step Up Overload

Matt Hackenberg 12/28/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. This set overloads the zone and makes the defense choose who they are going to cover. This set tries to make the defense "guard air" so that someone on offense is open because the defense doesn't shift to cover out of their zone. The point guard needs to be a great decision maker and read the defense properly to see who the open player will be. Video below. Zone Set: 5 Out Screen In

Matt Hackenberg 12/25/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. Using the 5 Out alignment, all five offensive players are on the outside of the zone, giving great opportunity to screen in. This is a chance to create an easy 3pt opportunity. Browse more coaching content available on the Sellfy store: https://sellfy.com/coachhack.go/ Follow me on Twitter - @CoachHackGO See More

Basketball Play - Zone Set: Double Screen Out Lob

Zone Set: Double Screen Out Lob

Matt Hackenberg 12/25/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. This works specifically against a 2-3 zone, screening out the top defenders to create a pocket for the point guard to drive into. Once face to face with x5, 1 can either shoot the floater or throw the lob to 5. Basketball Play - Zone Set: Overload Tight Curl

Zone Set: Overload Tight Curl

Matt Hackenberg 12/25/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. The concept of overloading the zone places more offensive players in an area than there are defenders. The cuter overloads the zone, shifting with the pass, and then an interior screen frees up the post player to catch the ball inside on the tight curl. Basketball Play - Horns: Push Slice STS

Horns: Push Slice STS

Matt Hackenberg 12/25/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a set out of a horns alignment. The set wants the defense to help on the screen in the paint, so that they are late getting through the screen-the-screener action. Against switching defenses, 5 wants to screen their own defender to free up the shooter. Video below. Basketball Play - Zone Set: Circle Flash

Zone Set: Circle Flash

Matt Hackenberg 12/25/2021

In this diagram and video clip we see a zone set to provide movement and a middle flash. If executed with good timing, this set should privde either an open wing three-pointer or a baseline cutter. Basketball Play - Zone Lob - "Michigan State"

Zone Lob - "Michigan State"

Matt Hackenberg 12/22/2021

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a zone offense set play for a back side lob. I always wanted to have a set or two like this installed for when teams flipped to zone on us on the fly. I love getting a quick, easy two when we see zone. This play has the added potential of really providing some energy for your team if you have a high flyer that can dunk the ball. Please make sure you have a good passer throwing the lob. Video below. Basketball Play - Zone Set: Swing Flare

Zone Set: Swing Flare

Matt Hackenberg 12/22/2021

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a zone offense set play. I like how the play stretches the defense side to side, and overloads the defense. This is a low risk set that can produce a three-point shot. Video below. Basketball Play - Horns: Push Gate Series

Horns: Push Gate Series

Matt Hackenberg 12/22/2021

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play series out of a horns alignment. The dribble push enters the set. The first two options are slipping the gate screen, and turning the corner on the dribble push for a clear out. The next option is using the gate screen, which goes into a pin or flare option, similar to a blocker/mover action. Video below. Matt Hackenberg 12/20/2021

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a horns alignment. The dribble push enters the set and the ball is swung to the top of the key after the gate screen. The two gate screeners screen away, opening up a gap for the driver to attack. Video below.
