College of Charleston Quick Hitter

Dana Beszczynski 11/26/2012

This play was run by the College of Charleston early in their upset win over Baylor. It is designed as a single/double screen to free up their best shooter Andrew Lawrence for a three pointer. In this situation, Lawrence chose to use the single screen set by Baru. Lawrence popped to the corner and got a wide open look at a three pointer which he knocked down off the pass from Stitt. Basketball Play - Triple Blob

Triple Blob

Brandon Huntley 12/15/2014

Today's play is a Baseline Out of Bounds set used to get a quick shot off of a triple screen. It is drawn up to get a quick three-pointer for your best shooter or create a mismatch in the post if the defense switches. It is simple enough to be ran at all levels, provided your team can set solid screens See More

Basketball Play - 1 Out Double

1 Out Double

Daniel Murphy 11/25/2014

Another play from SVG. 2 side ball screens set for the PG. Think about the defensive coverage needed on this play and who will guard x5 rolling. With 4 spacing x4 can't tag the roll. If x2 tags the roll a corner 3 is open. How will x5 play the pick and roll? See More

Zipper Weak 23

Kyle Gilreath 11/25/2014

Thursday night in their win over the Miami Heat, the Chicago Bulls ran this pick & roll play for Luol Deng to start the game. As 3 comes off the pick, 1 relocates to the corner as 4 and 5 space outside the lane. If the defense shifts to take away the drive, look to fire a pass to 1 in the corner and have your bigs screen in on the defense. See More

Basketball Play - Ball Screen with Baseline Double Screen

Ball Screen with Baseline Double Screen

Basketball HQ 09/03/2014

Baseline double needs to hit the shooters defender on the screens. Shooter can choose to curl in instead of straight cut to the corner if they want, read the defender. Having multiple actions in the same play usually ends up in a good shot for your team. By using the ball screen at the top of the key you force the other teams big men to watch the play and be in the help. This allows for the shooter to come off the baseline double for the open shot in the corner. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More

Basketball Play - Post Flash with Cross Screen

Post Flash with Cross Screen

Basketball HQ 09/03/2014

This play depends on timing and a good cross screen. If it is a smaller guard coming off of the cross screen they need to finish the layup quickly or shot fake because the help side is going to be coming for the block. This post flash cross screen basketball play is a great play to get a shot right at the basket. If you have missed a couple of long shots and are struggling to score this is a good play to run. If you are running the cross screen for a wing then they need to either finish quickly or shot fake and draw the foul. Big men will be able to take their time on the finish. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More
