This is a common play in our area of Northwest Ohio that I'm sure is used in college and pro's. This play is great because it is designed to for a high post entry, and a "scissor" cut with 2 guards. You can get good looks for 3's off the scissor cut and double screen. This play also offers a chance to enter to the post player with a double screen and post entry, or the big can fake handoff to both players, and have a high post isolation. See More

It allows for your 5-man to hide on the offensive end of the floor if he isn't good scoring, especially with the back to the basket. However, it puts him in a scoring position. 1v1 Slot works on the shoot or drive decision. I am a dribble drive motion offense coach so we worked on driving the slot, then our stride stops. We then turned into a small sided game by the passer closing out. Score it, put players on teams, but make it competitve: first player to 3 wins or seperate them into two teams and team with most points wins after certain amount of time or point score. See More

This is a simple and effective zone quick hitter against a 2-3 defense. This play can be used at any time during the game. This simple play does a great job of getting the 2-3 zone out of position for a wide open three or a baseline drive. The 1 passes the ball to 2 and clears out to the weak side corner The 4 comes up and sets a screen on the strong side defender on the ball. The 2 attacks hard off this ball screen and MUST freeze the opposite defender of the 2-3 zone at the top and will kick out to the weak side wing (3). The 3 quickly swings the ball to the corner for a wide open shot or dribble drive into the middle of the defense. We modify our dribble drive attack from 4 Out to 5 Out and use passing and cutting to create double gaps to drive. This action works best against pressure man defense and allows for tempo control by the offense. I love the offense from a developmental standpoint, teaching cutting, catching, passing and pivoting. This is a breakdown of an offense we call "Flow." Flow is three guard, two forward offense that is a hybrid of a ball screen offense and dribble drive concepts. It has options to attack driving gaps and play pick and roll. I really think the roll and replace concept is hard to guard, and we often found the replacing big wide open at the top of the key.
