Basketball Play - Kentucky Lob

Kentucky Lob

Gibson Pyper 03/27/2015

Kentucky ran a nice counter out of a normal set they have ran all year. Typically they set a high Pick & Roll and the two men on the baseline screen off each other and read the defense. Kentucky ran a counter for a lob and instead of setting the PNR the big man steps up and cuts backdoor off a backscreen. See More

Basketball Play - Triple/Double

Triple/Double

Andrew Lacey 03/26/2015

Here is a nice 1-4 Low set that gives your the inital option to have your point or lead guard take his man off the bounce. As that is playing out the other players create some movement to have defense looking to defend cutters. You can get a nice Hi-Lo out of your post game or catch and shoot option for your wings. Basketball Play - Virginia Corner Option

Virginia Corner Option

Wes Kosel 03/21/2015

Here is another baseline corner option used by Virginia to get Joe Harris the ball in the corner. The Cavaliers do a great job of moving without the ball making the defense chase shooters. In this option, Harris gets the ball in the corner looking for a shot. If a shot isn't there, Harris plays a two-man game with his 4 man for a pick & roll or pick & pop play in the corner. See More

Basketball Play - Iowa Screen the Screener

Iowa Screen the Screener

Andrew Greer 03/21/2015

This Iowa Hawkeyes set is a twist on a set that most coaches either have in their playbook or have seen on the court before. The Hawkeyes used a back screen cross screen combo to get a wide open dunk on the opposite block. In their screen the screener action the initial screener is a shooter who will receive the second screen to get to the corner. See More

Basketball Play - WVU 1-4 High

WVU 1-4 High

Andrew Greer 03/20/2015

WVU quick hitter used late in the 1st half against Buffalo. WVU was 3/9 from 3 in the first half and used this set to assert themselves in the paint. This quick hitter uses a guard cross followed by a dive and back screen. Buffalo eventually went to 2-3 zone in the first half to counter the offensive attack of the Mountaineers. See More

Basketball Play - WVU Triple Screen BLOB

WVU Triple Screen BLOB

Andrew Greer 03/20/2015

West Virginia continued to stretch their 1st half lead out with the BLOB set making a wide open 3 from the ball side wing. I have seen this play used by multiple teams with various wrinkles. In this set the 3 seals or opens up to the rim. In most cases, one of the bigs 4/5 will dive toward the rim after the initial double screen. See More

Basketball Play - Jayhawk Zone Cross

Jayhawk Zone Cross

Wes Kosel 03/20/2015

The Kansas Jayhawks used this play to start the game against New Mexico State's zone defense. The play starts with the Jayhawks in an overload on the right side of the floor. Mason (1) passes to Seldon (3) away from the overload. Ellis (4) moves towards Seldon as if he is going to set a screen. Instead, Seldon passes back to Mason and Lucas (5) screens the middle man of the zone. Ellis curls around the screen and gets the pass from Mason for a lay-up. See More

Basketball Play - LSU SLOB Cross Up

LSU SLOB Cross Up

Wes Kosel 03/20/2015

LSU used this play in the first half against NC State. On the sideline, LSU lines up with Hornsby in the corner (3). 1 passes the ball into 4 then 4 dribbles across the floor and passes back to 1. Hornsby then sets a cross-screen for 5. 4 sets a down screen for Hornsby who cuts up to the top of the key for a 3-point shot. It looks like LSU needs to keep finding Hornsby to stay in this game. Basketball Play - S.F. Austin High Flex/Dribble Handoff

S.F. Austin High Flex/Dribble Handoff

Andrew Greer 03/20/2015

Stephen F. Austin ran this early offense almost exclusively in the first half of their Round 2 matchup with Utah. Utah switched all screens which caused issues for the Lumberjacks but they were still able to get quality shots. This early offense uses flex concepts to clear one side of the floor for a dribble handoff. Stephen F. Austin utilizes a 5 that can attack the rim off the dribble to allow for multiple options out of the set. See More
