Basketball Play - Oakland

Oakland

Alan Peel 08/24/2013

"Oakland" is a baseline inbounds play that we ran when I was coaching at Turner High School in Kansas City, KS. The only difference is that we ran the play with #1 as the inbounds passer instead of #3. If you have a great #2 and you want to run secondary break offense, plays from Larry Brown's "Iverson" series might be just what you need. This series sets up your #2 to score consistently and to maximize his skill set within the framework of your team's offensive scheme. Basketball Play - 08 Raptors Backdoor Find

08 Raptors Backdoor Find

Adam Spinella 08/20/2013

In 2008, Jay Triano drew this play for a high handoff with Chris Bosh, who would likely pop out and set a ballscreen. Instead, the play worked out so that Bosh's presence with the ball would serve as a decoy for an off-ball player to cut backdoor and receive a pass from the man Bosh pitches the ball to. See More

Basketball Play - 1-4 High Ball Screen Drag

1-4 High Ball Screen Drag

Al Baker 08/19/2013

This is a tricky play to defend--especially when teams are fighting over screens--because of the back-to-back stagger screens. If your 5 can shoot it, you may also look to him shaping up after 1 cuts off his screen, since his man may be sagging to help with the cutter. See More

Basketball Play - "Double Fist"

"Double Fist"

Kyle Gilreath 08/16/2013

This is a play that Jim Boeheim frequented during the 2013 Final Four. I love this set because of the continuous screening actions after the initial stagger pick & roll. The first two options of the play are for 1 to come off and attack the rim and if he can't throwback to 4 for a catch & shoot. If neither of those options are open 2 comes off the second set of staggers for a multiple of options.
