Basketball Play - Florida Gulf Coast Eagles WBB - Curl UCLA Rip

Florida Gulf Coast Eagles WBB - Curl UCLA Rip

Matt Wheeler 02/08/2022

The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles women's team is known for their five-out offense and three-point shooting but this is a great quick-hitting play that they run to get a lob for their 5. The play starts with the guards curling around the posts at the elbows followed by a UCLA cut by the point guard and they 5 popping out to receive the pass from 3. 5 then reverses to 4 to setup the decoy action of 2 cutting off a screen from 1. 3 then sets the backscreen for 5 on the weakside for the lob. Basketball Play - Flat Rise Stagger Backdoor

Flat Rise Stagger Backdoor

Matt Hackenberg 01/28/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a baseline out of bounds play to set up a backdoor. The set uses a stagger screen to distract the defense, and misdirection to isolate a single defender for the backdoor. Basketball Play - Princeton Offense - Multi-Option Set: "Hawk"

Princeton Offense - Multi-Option Set: "Hawk"

Matt Hackenberg 12/12/2021

This is a long form play with multiple options from a Princeton alignment and a floppy action to feature a dynamic player. If the player can drive, shoot, post up, finish off the cuts or use a ball screen there are options to do so. We used the play to feature a shooter, but a post up player or a driver could also be used, just different options would need to be emphasized. Basketball Play - Quick Hitter: Box Overload Duck

Quick Hitter: Box Overload Duck

Matt Hackenberg 11/23/2021

Any time we had a functional big man, we always have this in the playbook. The play is simple, and provides a great opportunity to isolate your big. The movement puts the defense in a tough spot because the back side help is removed, so if they front, we can throw over the top for a layup. If they play behind, we have a 1 on 1 opportunity on the block. The play gets right to the point of the set, which I like because it limits the number of ball handlers and decisions that need to be made. You can easilty hide weaker players in the 4 or the 2 spot in this play. Basketball Play - Miami Heat - Flat Ram Exit

Miami Heat - Flat Ram Exit

Dave Nedbalek 10/19/2021

This is a simple exit set utilizing a 1-4 low alignment. The clip included shows the set as designed but there are several other components I like about this set as well. With Morris (ideally Adebayo would be here) sprinting up off Herro's brush screen into a simple touch and out middle ball screen there is a component of rim pressure being applied here as well. The Heat do not, but I would lift our weakside guard (Strus) to occupy the tag and place him in a long closeout. You also have the slip, or post feed after the pinscreen for the shooter coming out. I like this set and it's versatility to create a high quality look with space. See More

Ball ALWAYS goes to side where X3 is located. 4 will follow to that corner to receive the pass. 4 pass to 3, 3 pass to 2 and cut to opposite corner. 5 down screen for 4 looking to flash to the nail or 3 point line. 1 fades to space in the corner. 3 reads: lob to 5, skip to 1, or 4 can shoot/look high-low.
