Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of my favorite actions from Xavi Pascual, currently the head coach of Zenit St. Petersburg (Russia), when he was in charge of FC Barcelona. A quick pin down designed to get your best shooter open. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIgor Kokoškov, former NBA coach, is now the head coach of Fenerbahce, the top professional team in Turkey and a powerhouse in the Euroleague. Coach Kokoškov is an #XsOs genius and here is an example from a recent game. Special thanks to the @the_BasketHead Twitter account for posting the video of this play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWest Virginia likes to throw in this wrinkle to their "X" offense after timeouts. This gives them a look at a lob for a guard and a secondary action with the shuffle stagger. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a base set the West Virginia Mountaineers frequently use. Starting in a two-guard front, the 1 passes to the wing. 1 and 2 then make an "X" cut off of 5. Once 5 catches the ball up top he looks for open players off fo the pindowns for both guards. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTennessee starts this play in a floppy set, with 2 cutting off the double screen for 3 and 4. Once 2 gets the ball, 4 sets a cross screen to get 5 open in the post. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTennessee starts this action out of the Floppy set to get a post up off of the high low action. This puts 5's defender in a situaiton where they have to defend multiple actions and even step out on the perimeter before 5 ducks in for a post up. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTexas Tech uses this simple back screen, down screen action as one of their base offenses. With the floor spread, 1 has two opportunities to get open off of screens from 5. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Red Raiders use this counter to their "Stack" offense to get an open 3 from the corner. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan State runs a plethora of "Elbow" actions. This one provides a primary option to get the ball to 5 in the post and a secondary option for 1 up top off the screen the screener action. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCreighton is frequently able to use this play to get 5 open for a lob after rolling to the basket. After the entry to 5, 2 cuts off the screen from 3 and receives the handoff from 5. As 5 rolls to the rim, the help defense can only come off of 3. When the play is run quickly and you have a shooter in the "3" position, this action is tough to guard. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the things that Texas does best is simplicity. They have shot creators and playmakers surrounded by great positional length, and with the addition of elite level athleticism in Greg Brown they are even more versatile. Shaka Smart's approach to offense in Austin has been predicated on spacing the floor wide, using middle and twisted ball screens with pogo stick big men who put pressure on the rim and let players go make plays. They also place a premium on off ball cuts. The Longhorns do a great job of backdoor cuts if the defender loses sight of them while helping to stop dribble penetration. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother action from Shaka Smart that the Longhorns utilized efficiently in the '19-20 season was this 4 flat into a twisted ball screen. This action would be used to counter teams that hard hedged or tried to show aggressively to contain the Longhorn guards. With the last minute twist to the screen it would penalize good coverage and leave runways for the Longhorn perimeter players to drive, cut, dish and repeat. The beauty is in the simplicity. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is beautiful set for the Houston Cougars to get a deep post catch. This set could be utilized to get your best playmaker a catch in the short corner with space to make decisions. The piece that makes everything the Cougars do work on both sides of their ball is their pace. They are physical, they cut with purpose, and they will hunt out those hard-nosed baskets. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Houston Cougars use this set to give their guards double driving gaps and accentuate it with sending them to that gap off a non-traditional double drag screen. The 3 man coming from high to low in order to set this traffic screen puts x3 in a very tough situation depending on ball screen coverage. It simply looks like 3 will slice through and then he will flip his hips into a double drag screen with 4. The set ends in beautiful spacing with room to play on the catch. While Houston's initial action doesn't always result in a basket, the action shifts the defense with hard cuts, body to body screens, and threatening drives. This creates driving lanes where that Cougars will crack by the end of the posession. #Top25XsOs: Honorable Mention Teams | Teams 25-21 | Teams 20-16 | Teams 15-11 | Teams 10-6 | Teams 5-1 *New customers use discount code SAVE10 at purchase* See More
