Wisconsin used this set in the 1st half of their win over Coastal Carolina in Round 2 action. The Badgers ran this UCLA style offense multiple times throughout the night using different screens and 2 man game options. In this particular set the play is designed to get a shooter coming off of a stagger screen. Although the play was successful, the Badgers were unable to convert on the open jump shot. See More

Tennessee-Martin 4 Low. UTM coach Heath Schroyer drew this BLOB set up for the game winner against Eastern Kentucky to send the Skyhawks to the Final Four of the CIT. The Skyhawks had the ball with 6.3 seconds left down 2. Marshun Newell (2) sets to inbound the basketball. The set begins with the first option which is a triple stagger for a guard coming from the opposite corner to the ball side corner. After he was covered he cleared toward half court. Chandler Rowe (5) is the final screener. He opens up to catch the entry pass just inside the 3 pt. line. After the catch Newell sprints in to take the DHO and hits the game winning 3 from the corner. 1 hits the wing, and cuts to the strong side corner. 5 sets a shuffle screen for 2. After the screen, 5 snaps back to receive the pass. On the ball reversal to 4, the 2 sets a shuffle screen for 3. 5 sets a screen, for the shuffle screener (2). On the catch, 5 sets an angle ball screen. 3 spaces to the weak side corner. See More

Winthrop's terrific guard, Keon Johnson, was being trapped in wing ball screens. To counter this, Winthrop utilized an action which the Oklahoma City Thunder run regularly to free up Russell Westbrook. They set a zipper screen, to eliminate the hard hedge. At the point of the ball screen, the 5 sets a Flip Ball Screen. A flip ball screen is simply "flipping" the screening angle, at the point of the ball screen. It is a simple, but effective way to counter team's who are trapping or hard hedging ball screens. See More
