With 6.4 seconds left this was the final play of regulation in game 4 win for Memphis. The game was tied at this point and Perkins ended up blocking Randolph's shot to send the game into overtime. Memphis got the isolation from the sideout of bounds situation but was not able to convert it to a basket. See More

The New York Knicks ran this play during their playoff loss versus the Indiana Pacers Saturday night in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. There are severals aspects I love about this play. 1. I love running staggered pick & rolls (especially at lower levels) because most coaches do not teach their players how to guard. **I teach the first big to level the screen to prevent the slip and the second big to be the hedger/trapper/helper. 2. By using Carmelo in the first pick, the defense did not want to detach itself for too long and giveaway a look from the Knicks' best player. 3. The Knicks spaced two shooters in the corners (2-JR Smith, 4-Copeland) which made it difficult to help on this action and give up an open corner three. See More

This is a high low play that starts out with a dribble out to the left wing by 1. 5 back screens for 2 as 4 gets open at the top of the key. On the catch, 4 looks quickly to 5 stepping into the lane. This is the last counter in a series that the Dallas Mavericks used against the Miami Heat in their title run in 2011. Rick Carlisle does an excellent job of recognizing the strengths of the players that he has on the floor and taking advantage of those strengths. In this play sequence Jason Kidd is the (1), JET Jason Terry is the (2), Shawn Marion is the (3), Dirk is the (4), and Tyson Chandler is the (5). Memphis opening play of the fourth quarter in their game 4 win over OKC. The way Collison played the screen and rescreen by Gasol allowed Gasol to get deep post position. Arthur doesn't feed Gasol but dribble hand offs with Bayless. Sending two defenders to Bayless on the DHO was a great move because OKC gave up a 18 ft jump shot to Arthur which is a relatively low % shot. See More

With 10 seconds left in their 82-81 Sweet 16 upset win over Baylor, the Louisville women ran this play against Baylors full court press. 2 was wide open but Louisville couldn't throw the pass because 6'8 Griner was on the ball. If you have an inbounder who is matched up with a defender of a similar height this could work for you. Make sure to have the inbounder step back off the baseline to improve the angle to get the ball over the defender. See More
