Favorite Send to FastDrawIngite this set with a horns double screen. 5 dives and the 4 pops. 4 attacks and makes the x1 and x3 play him and kicks to the 3 or 5. 5 has the option to score kick out to the 2. If 3 receives the pass he can shoot, make x5 come out, attack and/or pass to 2 in the corner. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere are some more basic drills we have found extremely valuable during the "implementing Dribble Drive" phase, which we still use on a daily/weekly basis (they are a modified version of the traditional DDM Blood Drills). The importance of being able to create a "split" (where two defenders commit to the ball carrier) is pararmount within our DDM system, but the ability to be able to make an appropriate read/decision is just as important. There is no point getting in to the paint if you are just going to throw the ball away. What we are doing in this series is creating gamelike situations for our players, then letting them play it out and build on their decision making ability. You can move the initial setup to suit your teams needs, and all players are encouraged to play all positions/roles as part of their basketball IQ development. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe University of Virginia ran this to get a lob dunk versus a zone defense. The 2 slice cut through the lane and got the pass from 1 who quickly continued to reverse the ball to 3 on the left wing. The 3 then reverses course with the ball ultimately sending it back to the 1. The 4 and 5 on the baseline interchanged and set back screens on the bottom of the zone. The exchange made it tough for the zone to realize they were being screened and fight through. The 1 threw the ball up to 3 at the rim for the lob over the zone. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this play, 2 makes a zipper cut off of the big and goes straight into a ball-screen at the top of the key when he catches it. Once again, they use a "short roll" instead of a roll/replace action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMexico likes to spread the floor and set a ball-screen at the top of the key. The spread formation allows for easy passes to the big on the roll. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this SLOB play, a ball-screen is set by the zipper screener as a "follow action". You can also have the ballhandler dribble right and use a ball-screen from the other big. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is another way that Mexico likes to get the ball to the top of the key for a pick and roll. Mexico also likes to use short rolls in the post instead of the classic roll/replace action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this play, the ball is passed to the left wing and then a shuffle/stagger combination action takes place. If nothing is there, a second staggered screen is set for 1 on the left block cutting to the right wing. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is a counter to a shuffle stagger action with 1 drifting out to the top of the key instead of making a shuffle cut. Once 1 has the ball, a staggered screen is set for 3 cutting to the wing for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMexico spreads the floor with this play and uses a combination dribble handoff/ball-screen to get a high ball-screen for 2 at the top of the key. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is great for Canada as it opens up a shot for the shooter and can also get Wiggins open in the short corner for a quick post up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this horns action, the big closest to the ball pops out for a shot and the opposite big rolls to the rim. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 passes to 4 at the high post then moves towards the corner to screen for 3. If the defense starts to cheat the action, 1 looks to slip to the rim for an easy layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play gets three players in the action and puts the defense at a disadvantage with a down screen straight into a ball-screen. See More
