About This Play/Drill

This is a play that you can use vs a MatchUp zone as a continuity or vs a 2 front zone as a set play. The play uses timing and screens to attack the defense and force defenders to decide who to guard.

USE vs. 2-3 zone or match-up zone

The play can go to either side to start and can be used as a quick hitter or a continuity offense.

Play Starts with 1 passing to a wing

  • After the pass, 1 will cut to the ball-side corner. 4 will drop to block. 5 has to wait for 1 to move to the corner to get the defense to rotate.

  • This forces to defense to adjust to how we want to attack. x5 has to bump down. x1 picks up ball. x4 will come high or x2 will come over to guard high post.

  • Here is the rotation to attack. 2 moves up to lane line extended.

5 screens x1 and rolls to basket.

    1 replaces 3
