Billy Donovan has coached teams to the peak of college basketball’s mountaintop.

Coach Billy Donovan has reached Four Final Fours, two national championships, a perfect 18-0 conference regular season, six Southeastern Conference tournament titles and 16-straight 20-win seasons.

He’s made Florida basketball a millennial powerhouse on the national level and he did it all at a football school.

Now, he sits on the doorstep of yet another achievement after coaching his 499th victory Wednesday night against Vanderbilt.

  • 1 dribbles toward the high ball-screen set by 4 at the top of the key.

    2 and 3 slide to the corners.

    5 cuts up to the top of the key.

    1 looks to hit 4 on the roll or 5 for the shot.

  • If 5 doesn't have a shot, 5 passes to 3 on the opposite wing.

  • 5 then follows the pass and sets a ball-screen for 3.

    3 looks for 5 on the pick and roll.

  • If 5 isn't open, 2 and 1 exchange spots on the wing and 3 passes to 2.

    4 moves up to set a ball-screen for 2.

  • 4 sets a ball-screen for 2 and rolls to the basket.

    if 5's defender (x5) helps on the penetration, 2 kicks the ball out to 3 who passes to 5 in the post.

  • 4 sets a wide down screen for 3.

    2 cuts across the baseline to the opposite corner.

    1 passes to 3, then cuts to the basket off of a back-screen from 5.

    3's first option is to pass to 1 on the lob.

  • If 1 isn't open, 1 clears out to the corner.

    5 sets a ball-screen for 3 then rolls to the basket.

    4 sets his man up toward the block then cuts up to the elbow for a shot.

  • If 5 and 4 don't have a shot, 3 passes to 4 who reverses the ball to 2.

    If 5's defender (x5) is fronting 5 when 3 has the ball then 5 should be able to seal his defender on the ball reversal.

    2 passes to 5 for the easy lay-up.
