About This Play/Drill

Today's FastDraw Play of the Day was run by the Boston Celtics in their Game 4 win in the 2012 NBA Eastern Conference Finals. This action is especially effective when a team traps your ball screens.

  • Basketball Play - Play of the Day 06-04-12: 1-4 High Slice Pop

  • Frame 1: Allen (2) loops under the basket and Pierce (3) slice cuts across the court.
     

  • Frame 2: Garnett (5) sets a ball screen for Rondo (1) as Pietrus (4) flashes to ball side block, then cuts to weak short corner. Garnett pops after setting the ball screen.
     

  • Frame 3: Rondo can hit Garnett for the jumper.
     

  • Frame 4: If the defense rotates to Garnett, he can hit Pierce for 3 or Pietrus cutting to the basket.
