I figured with so many people doing one set and one drawing, I wanted to offer something different. After reviewing all four games of the Western Conference Finals between the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs I looked at actions that were successful and one's that didn't have quite as much success. I started with the Memphis Grizzlies. The play diagrams below are drawn for multiple plays with the play name titled directly on top of the court frame. These play diagrams are in order with the video you can find here:
This way you can view the video and look at the play diagrams while the video is running. I hope you enjoy looking at the Memphis Grizzlies WCF Playbook.
1 dribbles the ball to the top of the key. 2 sprints along baseline to set a screen for 3. 3 runs off 2's screen and then 5's screen on the opposite block. Once 3 clears the block 4 moves down to block. 2 spaces to the wing. 1 hits the 5 man who flashes to the elbow after screening for 3.
3 cuts hard back door looking for the pass from the 5 man then continues to the opposite corner. 1 sets his man up then cuts hard off the 5 for a handoff or short pass. He has the entire side of the floor clear.
1 passes the ball to the 4 at the top of the key. 3 cuts off 5's flex screen. 4 looks for a quick hitter to the 3 man.
4 dribbles at the 1 and executes a dribble handoff. 1 dribbles to the top of the key. 4 sprints off back screens from 5 and then 3. 1 looks inside or kicks it to 2 who has a better angle.
