About This Play/Drill

This is a nice Motion set run by the Ducks.

With multiple scoring options coming from the various cuts, chances for open shots or post-up situations avail themselves

Dana Altman's Offense has many creative ball handlers who can also breakdown the defense 1 v 1

  • Basketball Play - Motion Offense Post Option

  • 1 (Artis - 1) passes to 5 (Carter - 32) on the FT line and cuts through to the post

    4 (Moser - 0) relocates to the weak side block on the FT line pass

    3 (Young - 3) lifts off the wing and receives the kick-out pass from 5 (Carter - 32)

    2 (Dotson - 21) moves to the lane line extended
  • 1 (Artis - 1) pops out to the wing and receives the pass from 3 (Young - 3) who relocates to the TOK

    5 (Carter - 32) steps up and sets a back screen on x2 as 2 (Dotson - 2) cuts to the basket looking for a quick hit

    4 (Moser - 0) moves up the lane line setting up the next action
  • 2 (Dotson - 21) clears to the ball side corner when he doesn't receive the pass

    5 (Carter - 32) sets a screen on x4 as 4 (Moser - 0) cuts to the ball side elbow looking for a quick catch & shoot pass

    *When he doesn't receive the pass, he drops into the post looking to seal his defender

    -In this situation, 1 (Artis - 1) reverses the ball to 3 (Young - 3) and the play continues
  • 3 (Young - 3) receives the ball screen from 5 (Carter - 32) and comes off looking to penetrate to the open side

    In this play, 3 (Young - 3) penetrates baseline and kicks out to 4 (Moser - 0) who has released to the corner and has a wide open shot

    *notice the good spacing and relocation exhibited by the Oregon players on the penetration
