About This Play/Drill

The Florida Gators are one of the most exciting offensive teams to watch in the country.  

Head Coach Billy Donovan's sets are creative, tactically intelligent, and utilizes the strengths of his players.  The Gators put their players in a position to get good shots from their sets.

This DHO action moves the defense around and forces them to make quick decisions.  This play really takes advantage of Young's ability to use his body inside for an easy lay-up or FT line opportunity.

  • 1 (Wilbekin - 5) executes a DHO with 2 (Frazier II - 20) on the wing

    2 (Frazier II - 20) centers the ball on the dribble

    On the DHO: 4 (Yeguete - 15) cuts to the opposite block setting up the next action
  • 1 (Wilbekin - 5) cuts baseline as 3 (Prather - 24) cuts over the top to the opposite wing

    5 (Young - 4) flashes hard to the high post and receives the pass from 2 (Frazier II - 20)

    4 (Yeguete - 15) screens low for 1 (Wilbekin - 5) cutting off the baseline
  • On the high post pass:

    3 (Prather - 24) cuts backdoor and out to the opposite wing

    2 (Frazier II - 20) cuts off the post looking for a hand-off

    1 (Wilbekin - 5) comes from the wing and meets 5 (Young - 4) who executes a DHO in the middle of the floor

    5 (Young - 4) rolls to the basket

    4 (Yeguete - 15) lifts to the TOK as 1 (Wilbekin - 5) looks to penetrate off the DHO
  • 1 (Wilbekin - 5) stops the dribble, reverse pivots and kicks-out to 4 (Yeguete - 15) who quickly throws inside to 5 (Young - 4) sealing his man in the paint
