About This Play/Drill

Defensive drill to allow all players to guard from the perimeter. Also you can put all players at one basket and it keeps them accountable. Players do not want to stay on defense while their teammates are watching on the baseline.

  • Coach starts with the ball on the baseline. Defender has back to the ball and tries to deny the ball in to the offense. Offense must work quickly to get open vs. the pressure.

  • Coach tries to in bound the ball as quickly as possible. If defender keeps ball away from offense coach can lob in the ball in to start the possession. Still making players working on ball denial.

  • Offensive allowed 3 dribbles. Defender wants to push the ball to the sideline and keep the ball out of the paint. Defender stays on until he gets a stop. New offense each possession. Can divide team up and use both ends or put all players at one basket. Good drill for keeping players accountable on defense.
