About This Play/Drill

This is a good combination action that spreads the defense out. The initial ball-screen is hard enough to guard, but when you add the throw back and the down screen on the weak side it becomes really hard to guard effectively.

 
  • Basketball Play - Northern Iowa UCLA Throw Back
  • Basketball Play - Northern Iowa UCLA Throw Back

  • 1 passes to 2 then makes a UCLA cut off of 5.

  • 5 sets a ball-screen for 2.

     

    1 replaces 2 on the right wing.

     

    4 screens away for 3 on the weak side.

     

    2 looks to make the throw back pass to 1 for a shot or post entry to 5.
